- Abstract
- The work investigated the influence of wire-cut electrical discharge machining (EDM) modes on the surface quality parameter - roughness according to Ra of a composite material made of titanium alloy VT6 with a deposited layer VT20-2sv. Theoretical modeling of the process of EDM of a composite material made of titanium grade VT6 with a deposited titanium alloy VT20-2sv was carried out, mathematical models of the distribution of the temperature gradient under the influence of single pulses were obtained, and the dimples that form the relief of the treated surface were modeled. Empirical and theoretical data on the value of the roughness parameter Ra of the surface of a composite alloy after EDM are presented. The resulting models were verified. It was found that the maximum deviation of the models was 26 % at current I = 1.5 A, the minimum deviation was 13 % at current I = 3.5 A.
