- Abstract
- A comprehensive analysis of cyber threats for wireless avionics information systems (WAIS) has been conducted. Modern approaches to protecting aviation systems in the context of integrating advanced digital technologies have been examined. Key vulnerabilities associated with the use of wireless technologies, as well as the potential of attackers amidst the growing automation of processes using artificial intelligence, are described. A threat model has been developed, which differs from existing models by utilizing a current threat assessment methodology that includes an in-depth analysis of specific vulnerabilities, enabling more accurate risk management in the aviation industry. It is concluded that the increasing degree of integration and interaction in aviation WAIS leads to the emergence of new types of threats. Given the ability of attackers to automate attack processes using artificial intelligence, there is an urgent need to develop comprehensive protection strategies to ensure the integrity of aviation systems.
