- Abstract
- The method of broadband acoustic spectroscopy with a laser source of ultrasound (laser-ultrasonic spectroscopy) is realized for isotropic metal matrix composite materials. The reactive cast aluminum matrix composite materials reinforced with titanium trialuminide particles of different volume concentrations were investigated. It was found that the presence of porosity in the composite is characterized not only by the increase of the attenuation coefficient, but also by the occurrence of the dispersion of the phase velocity of longitudinal acoustic waves.
