- Abstract
- The fingerprint image quality has a significant effect on the performance of automatic fingerprint identification system. The paper proposes an efficient method for measure of fingerprint image quality based on discrete wavelet transformations. The proposed method takes into account both of the local and global characteristics of the fingerprint image. Experimental results demonstrate that the method allows to predict biometric verification decisions correctly. The method can be generalized for other biometric modalities.
